Introduction

January 2021 Grand Rounds —
CARES Act Provider Relief Funds —
It’s Time to Pay the Piper!

January 5, 2021 - 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm (ET)

Faculty:

Dan Mulholland and Joshua Hodges

So earlier this year you received money from the Provider Relief Funds authorized by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act. That’s great. But whenever you hear, “We’re from the Government and we’re here to help” there’s always strings attached.  Once 2021 starts, you’ll be asked to account for how you used those funds and must pay money back if you didn’t use it correctly. In addition, you’ll be expected to be able to prove that you complied with all the terms and conditions that came with the money, such as not collecting higher out-of-pocket payments from COVID-19 patients than what the patient would have had to pay if they went to an in-network provider. The OIG Work Plan has prioritized audits of providers who received PRF money, and whistleblowers and their attorneys are lurking in the shadows waiting to pounce with False Claims Act suits. What to do?

Tune into HortySpringer’s first Grand Rounds Audio Conference of 2021 where Dan Mulholland and Joshua Hodges will walk you through what will be expected of hospitals, medical practices or other providers who received CARES Act funds and help you get ready to show you are compliant.
